Longtime Alaskan and Homer resident, Geraldine Lenore Faller, 93, handed absent at her home at Nordic Residing, Assisted Residing Facility on June 27, 2021.
Born in Hudson, Wisconsin, to Eleanor Carmion Wasson (nee Larson/Larsen) and Gerald Wasson, she experienced a quite adventurous life, which led her to are living in Homer, Alaska – a area and men and women she beloved so very much.
In 1958, she and her partner, Steve Faller, packed their possessions and their daughter and relocated from California to Anchorage, Alaska.
She to begin with labored developing maps of Alaska at BLM wherever she was employed when the Great Earthquake of 1964 hit. 1 of her favored reminiscences was of how the individuals of Anchorage came together and served just about every other pursuing the destruction. She and Steve had been the only dwelling in their neighborhood with a generator, and that is how they finished up with about 20 folks sleeping around. All people brought food and camped out. In the late 1960s, she worked at Nationwide Bank of Alaska in Anchorage.
In 1970, she and Steve relocated to a modest cabin in Halibut Cove, and beloved the life of business fishing on their vessel, the Balboa, wintering in excess of in Homer right until making their home on Kachemak Way and settling below completely in 1980.
Geri was a member of the Emblem Club, signing up for by way of the Anchorage Lodge in 1966 and later on the Homer Lodge. She is survived by her son-in-legislation, Don Armstrong, of Holualoa, Hawaii her grandchildren, Carmion (Bill) Fuhrman, of Paris, Tennessee Kim (Eric) Caley, of Surprise, Arizona James (Teryl) Armstrong, of Anchorage 12 fantastic-grandchildren, 4 fantastic-excellent grandchildren and several cherished buddies.
She was preceded in demise by her dad and mom, her sister, Carmion Leona Wasson her husband, Steve Faller her daughter, Carmion Lee Armstrong and her grandson, Robert Armstrong.
In retaining with her needs, her remains have been interred at Hickerson Memorial Cemetery on Diamond Ridge Road with her mom, husband, as nicely as her beloved puppy, Schatzi. No providers will be held.
