With profound disappointment we announce the passing of Theresa J. Sanchez on July 12, 2021, at the age of 90. She was the Matriarch of the Sanchez family. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mom, grandmother, and terrific grandmother. But, higher than all these, she was as a little one of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, a daughter of the most Large God. She left this earth to shell out eternity with Jesus. We now have an everlasting angel in heaven.

Theresa was born on October 17, 1930 to Frank and Francis Chavez in Chamita, NM. She grew up in Los Luceros with 5 brothers and sisters all working the household ranch. She married Gilbert Sanchez and they lifted 5 youngsters in Espanola, NM. 

She had lots of careers and provided her services generously. She served as a cook dinner for the Espanola Community Universities for 30 yrs, and as a Pink Lady volunteer for Presbyterian clinic for 25 a long time. She was a devout Catholic and taught catechism to elementary learners at Holy Cross Church the place she was also the Celadora of the Holy Family for 40 many years. She had great devotion to her holy family members and adored it. We all experienced to kneel to pray when she had the holy relatives in her dwelling.

Mom constantly had her priorities straight. It was generally God to start with, then her family members. Her like for God and her frequent willingness to point some others towards Him shined brightly. She confronted many problems in her lifestyle, but she under no circumstances wavered in her religion. She reliable the Father with her daily life and she was confident He understood what was ideal even when it didn’t make feeling. Theresa was preceded in demise by her parents Frank and Francis Chavez, her spouse of 45 several years, Gilbert Sanchez, sons Simon, Gilbert Jr. and Robert (Bobby) Sanchez, grandchild Ginger Esparza, and brothers Frank Jr. and Julian Chavez.

A extremely significantly liked mother, she is survived by her daughters, Charlene (Jim) Esparza, Virginia (James) Ellington, and daughter-in-regulation Mary Sanchez. Her cherished and cherished her grandchildren Rodney and Kim Sanchez, Mardel Esparza, Fernando and Lynette Sanchez, Mark and Amber Ellington, and David Chavez. She has eighteen excellent grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and five God-little ones.

She adored her sisters Beatrice (Leonard) Abeyta and Claudia Rene (Joe) Pallett. Her sisters-in-regulation are Flora Chavez, Josie Ramirez, and Lupe Chavez.

The public visitation will be on Wednesday, July 28th from 10am to 10:30am at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, followed by the rosary at 10:30am and the Mass celebrated at 11am.  Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday the 29th at 10:30am at the Countrywide Cemetery in Santa Fe.  The pallbearers are Jim Esparza, James Ellington, Rodney Sanchez, Fernando Sanchez, Mark Ellington, and Andrew Romero.

The family members is deeply grateful for the loving treatment offered to her by extensive time caregivers and friends Liz Schmitt, Cerina Armijo, and Concha. Many thanks to Del Corazon Hospice.

We don’t forget her reciting the following prayer daily since we ended up minor, and until finally the night before she died:

 Lord, I require you each and every day. 

I stumble so together the way. 

I have to have the faith that you can give 

Each individual single working day I stay. 

I have to have extra power for I am weak, 

And it is your power that I find. 

Give me hope when factors go completely wrong, 

And allow my coronary heart hear your sweet music.

The highway is prolonged and the hill so steep. 

I even need you when I slumber. 

Let us experience it, God, what can I do 

If I can’t switch to you? 

 “I have fought the great fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:7)
